MAOIs (Monoamine
oxidase inhibitors)are antidepressant drugs prescribed for the
treatment
of depression.
They are particularly effective in
treating atypical
depression, and have shown efficacy in helping people to stop smoking.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors are also used in the
treatment of agoraphobia and social anxiety.
